Adam Mudd developed software which led to more than 1.7million cyber attacks
A LAD who created a computer bug at age 15 and made almost £400,000 by selling it to cyber criminals was motivated for “status”, a court has heard.
Adam Mudd, now 20, faces jail after admitting to hacking and money laundering, with the court hearing his sophisticated hacking software led to more than 1.7million attacks on websites worldwide.
As a teen, the young man designed the system, Titanium Stresser, causing chaos by carrying out almost 600 denial of service himself between December 2015 to March 2015.
He then sold on the system to more than 112,000 registered users, who hacked more than 666,00 IP addresses.
The Old Bailey heard that the young man, who has Asperger’s, was motivated by status with the money-making “by the by”.
